What is the difference between Nepali typing and translation?

Typing changes the script, translation changes the language. Nepali Typing turns 'namaste' into नमस्ते — the same Nepali word written in Devanagari. Translation turns the English word 'hello' into the Nepali word नमस्ते. If you already know what you want to say in Nepali and just need it in Nepali letters, use typing.

Is the typing output Preeti or Unicode?

Unicode Devanagari. Unicode is real Nepali text — it can be searched, copied between programs, indexed by Google and read by screen readers. Preeti is a legacy font that maps English letters to Nepali-looking shapes, so Preeti text turns into gibberish anywhere the Preeti font isn't installed.

Why our typing gives Unicode, not Preeti

Preeti was how Nepal typed Nepali for two decades, and plenty of offices still run on it. But Preeti isn't really Nepali text — it maps English letter positions to Nepali-shaped glyphs, so the underlying characters are Roman. Send Preeti text to someone without the font and they see nonsense; Google can't index it; screen readers can't read it. Our tool outputs Unicode Devanagari, which is genuine Nepali text that survives copying, searching and sharing anywhere.
